ELIAS DRIS
SINGER
Elias Dris was nineteen when he travelled to California, cradle of American counterculture, to record his debut album Gold In The Ashes (Vicious Circle, 2017) with Tom Menig at Silver Maple Studio in Grass Valley. A collection of intimate folk songs, the record was praised for its sincerity and the maturity of its performance.

His second album, Beatnik Or Not To Be (Vicious Circle, 2019), expanded his sound and affirmed his taste for bold songwriting and sonic exploration. Produced with Barrie James O Neill and recorded by David Odlum at BlackBox Studio, it led him to more than a hundred shows across France, sharing the stage with Lou Doillon, Selah Sue, Suede, Girls In Hawaii and Nouvelle Vague, who later invited him onto their 2025 album.

Alongside his own work, he recorded a Simon and Garfunkel tribute album, Homeward Bound (Virgin Records), with Morgane Imbeaud. His artistic world was also highlighted by Pierre et Gilles, who created a portrait of him for their exhibition La Fabrique des Idoles at the Cité de la Musique. Literary festivals such as Le Marathon des Mots and Le Goût des Autres regularly invite him for performances alongside authors including Max Porter.

His new album Pearl offers a raw and poetic portrait of Los Angeles, blending the desire to disappear into the city with the impossibility of returning to it. Recorded in Paris, Los Angeles and Fécamp, the album was mixed by Kieron Menzies and mastered by Adam Ayan and Dominique Blanc Franquard.
