JOSIANE KARTHEISER

Writer, pioneer, satirist, independent, self-determined

Born 1950 in the south of Luxembourg, Europe.

Studied English and American literature in the UK.Worked as a journalist and language teacher for adults.

​

Published two dozen books and co-authored a.o. a thematic French-Luxembourgish-English dictionary

Toured the country as a member of a group performing satirical sketches and songs.

​

Worked as a guide for the Philharmonic in Luxembourg-City.

​

"Received a couple of prizes", among other In July 2010, Josiane Kartheiser received the Anne Beffort Prize from the City of Luxembourg for her contribution over 25 years to Luxembourg's literary scene at a time when the sector was dominated by men.


The award reflected Kartheiser's concern for supporting the place of women in Luxembourg society.
